Man arrested after nearly scaling 54-story Ritz-Carlton in downtown L.A.
Los Angeles: A man was arrested Monday after nearly scaling a 54th-floor suite in the Ritz-Carlton on the corner of Fifth and La Brea, officials said Tuesday.
Juan Carlos Vasquez was arrested by the LAPD as he was walking down a hallway, he told police.
The suspect climbed two sets of fire escapes, said Lt. Mark Reuss, a spokesman for the city’s public safety department. He was arrested and handcuffed after he refused to stop.
Police were trying to track down a woman suspected of bringing a man into the hotel, according to Reuss.
